“Avoided the Scariest Outcomes” – Mets Manager Says CT Scan on Jared Young Came Back Negative

Scary moment on Thursday night when Justin Crawford hit a dribbler up the 1st base line and Mets pitcher Nolan McLean accidentally kneed Jared Young in the head:

Luckily, it sounds like a serious injury was avoided:

“It was really scary… He’s had CT scan, results have come back negative, so in that sense it’s very positive. Still experiencing real concussion symptoms right now but has full use of his extremities and it feels at this point in time like we’ve avoided the scariest outcomes.”

This is good to hear. Young was out cold for a little bit after taking that knee flush to the side of the head but it sounds like he’s gonna be okay.

The Phillies won the game 3-0 and have posted two shutouts in a row now. Aaron Nola went seven strong innings, giving up 0 runs on three hits while striking out four batters and walking three. The Phils are four games behind the Braves and even with the Cubs for the top Wild Card spot.
