Dreams do come true in the offseason: The Eagles have officially released cornerback and angina-cause Cary Williams. It helps the Eagles because releasing Williams frees up $6.5 million in cap room while having the added benefit of not having Cary Williams on your team anymore. That cap room will help in other places too, as the Eagles are expected to make a move to get Byron Maxwell, which would bring in an elite-level CB (though that didn’t work so well last time) while also giving time to Brandon Boykin and having the added benefit of no longer having Cary Williams on your team anymore. So farewell, Cary Williams. We’ll have fewer headaches and anger-filled tweets during the games now. That’s nice.

UPDATE: Williams was on 97.5 moments after his release. Gotta respect that he found out the news directly from the team and not on Twitter or something like that.
