Yesterday, we posed the question of “Was Allen Iverson drunk during his infamous practice rant?” The information that he in fact was came from Iverson biographer Kent Babb and his new book Not a Game. But today, Iverson himself said he was sober.
According to Complex, Stephen A. Smith told First Take viewers today that he spoke to AI this morning and Iverson vehemently denied reports that he was drunk. “This is a flat out lie,” Stephen A. said. “Allen Iverson was not drunk the day he had that press conference about practice.” So drunk? No (maybe). Will this press conference ever go away? No. In ten years we’ll still be talkin’ bout how we are still talkin’ bout “talkin’ bout practice.”
