The Phillies today announced that rookie slugger Maikel Franco – who “thought it might be broken” when he was hit by a pitch last week… whose manager, zombie Pete Mackanin, “thought for sure it was broken” – does indeed have a non-displaced fracture in his left wrist and will be placed on the DL retroactive to August 12.
Apparently, an MRI conducted yesterday showed off the fracture which an X-ray missed. He’ll wear a brace for the next 2-3 weeks and could be done for the season.
The Phillies’ medical team strikes again!*
