Aaron Nola came out of the gate throwing harder this year and picked up two wins in this first three starts, while striking out 13 in his first two appearances. He didn’t look so good in his win on Thursday, though, when he struck out only two and walked four, while seeing a dip in his velocity:
Now he’s on the new(!) 10-day with a lower back strain. The move is retroactive to April 21, so it’s possible Nola only misses one start.
Nola was a guest on Leslie Gudel and Glen Macnow’s Inside Corner podcast last night and said he was feeling fine. Guess not.
