Phillies update:
They are linked to everyone.
They are linked to Patrick Corbin, Manny Machado, Bryce Harper, Andrew Miller, Paul Goldschmidt, Craig Kimbrel, and Joe DiMaggio. They will spend “stupid” money to sign one of more of these players. Maybe they will sign every free agent on the market.
The stove is burning hot, I just don’t know what’s actually cooking.
The latest on that front:
Baseball execs are baseball fans at heart, and they wonder, too, about where Bryce Harper and Manny Machado will sign. Most common guesses — informed speculation — that I've heard from folks within the game: Machado to the Phillies, Harper back to the Nationals.

Huh? Harper back to the Nationals? That doesn’t seem likely..
It feels like we’ve got a different destination for Machado and Harper every week. It’s the Phillies. It’s the Yankees. It’s the Dodgers.
