The Phillies got hammered last night. Just obliterated.

By the eighth thing, they were simply trying to survive nine innings when reliever Yacksel Rios surrendered a two-run shot to Alex Verdugo. Rios followed that homer by plunking – accidentally plunking – Justin Turner with an 84 mph slider. Turner knew it, the Dodgers bench knew it, but home plate umpire Doug Eddings didn’t see it that way and hastily ejected Rios from the game.

Gabe Kapler emerged from the dugout and hilarity ensued, thus I give you this video from Twitter user Jomboy, who walks us through Rios’ most unusual ejection. It’s fantastic.

Bring me the robot umps.
