We are another day closer.

By now, you’re just ready for the game. It turns out rookie Sidney Jones may also be ready as well.

The Eagles held practice on Wednesday afternoon and the defensive back was a full go, without limitations. Only one other player was on the injury report:

Ellerbe has been hampered by that hamstring for weeks and it may be a game-time decision on if he’l play or not in the NFC Championship showdown on Sunday night. Personally, I’d like to see Jones active as well.

Unfortunately, the game is still days away. Until then, we got analysis, analysis, and more analysis. Let’s go!

The Sixers almost did it again.

The team built up another sizable lead and nearly blew it down the stretch against the Toronto Raptors on Monday afternoon. The Sixers escaped with a 117-111 win on MLK Day to improve to 20-20.

Joel Embiid led Philly with 34 points in the winning effort. T.J. McConnell had 18 points off the bench.

Watch JoJo work:

At the end of the game, things got a bit chippy between Kyle Lowry and Ben Simmons, but Ben doesn’t “take shit from anybody.”

It could’ve gone down in the halls of Wells Fargo Center though:

Off the court, the Sixers signed Demetrius Jackson to a two-way contract.

The team faces the Celtics on Thursday night at 7pm.

One step closer.

The Eagles are back in the NFC Championship and all seems right with the world. Theytopped the Falcons on a defensive goal line stand on Saturday night to earn the 15-10 victory at home.

Listen to Merrill Reese’s call of that fourth and 2 play.

Nick Foles managed the game well and did what needed to do. He was 23-30 for 246 yards. However, it was the defense that was in the spotlight creating havoc and limiting Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons defense.

After the Eagles game, the Patriots mopped the floor with the Titans on Saturday night.

Then Sunday provided two exciting games with the Jaguars eliminating the Steelers and then this happened between the Saints and Vikings:

The stage is set, conference championship Sunday is less than one week ago.

I’m sure Jeffrey Lurie had to be the first one in the elevator to rush down to the locker room so that he can be there to break it down with the players after the game. He showed off his moves on Ronald Darby’s Instagram Live:

The Philadelphia Flyers are on a bye week, but that isn’t keeping them out of the news.

Claude Giroux was selected to play in the 2018 NHL All-Star Game, which takes place later this month in Tampa, Florida.

This is Giroux’s fifth trip to the All-Star Game, with his last coming in 2016.

Here’s a rundown of the weekend, which is Jan. 27-28:

The 2018 NHL All-Star Skills Competition will take place on Saturday, Jan. 27 (7:00 p.m. on NBCSN) and the 2018 Honda NHL All-Star Game will be on Sunday, Jan. 28 (3:30 p.m. on NBC).

The annual mid-season event returns to a 3-on-3 tournament format for the third straight year – Nashville (2016) and Los Angeles (2017). Under the tournament rules, the NHL All-Star Game will be divided into three 20-minute games, with star players from each NHL division making up the four All-Star teams: Pacific, Central, Atlantic, and Metropolitan.

The Flyers return to regular season action on Saturday.

Roll Tide.

In an instant classic, Alabama proved its dynasty is still strong with a comeback 26-23 win over Georgia in the College Football National Championship. ‘Bama was down 13-0 at intermission and trailed 20-7 midway through the second half.

Nick Saban benched starting QB Jalen Hurts for freshman Tua Tagovailoa, who more than delivered. The future of the program was 14-24 for 166 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception. It culminated with this game-winning pass on 2nd and 26 after taking a 16-yard sack:

President Donald Trump attended the first half of the game and was on the field for the national anthem ceremony:

The college football season is officially over. Now full focus on the NFL and the Eagles’ road to the Super Bowl.

The stage, or shall we say cage, is set.

The Philadelphia Eagles host the Atlanta Falcons this Saturday at 4:35pm on NBC. The Birds are home underdogs, something that hasn’t happened for a one seed in the playoffs since 1970. The Falcons face the Birds because they took down the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday night, 26-13. In the other Wild Card Weekend games, another Andy Reid team collapsed, Jacksonville was not as bad as Buffalo, and the Saints managed not to give it away to the Panthers.

It was an entertaining weekend, here is the schedule for the divisional round:

Saturday, January 13

Atlanta Falcons at Philadelphia Eagles, 4:35 p.m. (NBC)

Tennessee Titans at New England Patriots, 8:15 p.m. (CBS)

Sunday, January 14

Jacksonville Jaguars at Pittsburgh Steelers, 1:05 p.m. (CBS)

New Orleans Saints at Minnesota Vikings, 4:40 p.m. (FOX)

Now we have the week to over-analyze and overreact! Continue Reading
