I think these are Pro Football Focus stats, but will double check the passer rating math.

To break it out, PFF listed Jalen as 4-5 for 50 yards against the blitz on Sunday afternoon. They’ve got these written out as his season stats:

  • 88 dropbacks
  • 73 attempts
  • 48 completions
  • 65.8 completion percentage
  • 483 yards
  • 6.6 yards per attempt
  • two touchdowns
  • one interception
  • three throwaways
  • eight sacks
  • two “big time throws”
  • 32 first downs
  • four “turnover worthy plays”

Looking at last year’s numbers, he completed 63.1% of his passes against the blitz, and threw nine touchdowns and eight picks. Of course, not every QB is blitzed at the same rate, and according to the Sportradar data, the Eagles have been blitzed 71 times this year through seven games, which is 10.14 per game and 19th in the NFL. Last year, it was 199 times over 17 games, or 11.7 per game and the 6th-highest league rate.

That’s the basic gist. Teams aren’t blitzing Jalen as much this year, at least through about 40% of the schedule. We’ll see if it changes, but he’s doing better in this department. (EDIT – and for what it’s worth, the jaguars have the lowest blitz rate in the NFL)
