Pete Prisco is Back on His Trevor Lawrence Bullshit

CBS put out a video after Super Bowl 59 in which Prisco claimed he would take Dak Prescott, C.J. Stroud, Baker Mayfield, and Justin Herbert over Jalen Hurts, while calling a Hurts/Trevor Lawrence comparison “even.” Then we was trounced by Barstool’s Max Dolente for his idiotic take.
Now we fast forward to 2026 and he’s back on this Trevor Lawrence thing:
What’s with the Trevor Lawrence love? The guy has one playoff win in his five NFL seasons, and that was against Justin Herbert at home. Jalen Hurts has played at the highest level in two Super Bowls, probably should have won both, and has a Super Bowl MVP to his name. He has 21 postseason touchdowns, passing and running, and a 6-4 playoff record.
Lawrence is coming off his best NFL season, and so his 2025 stats outweigh Hurts’ 2025 stats. Big deal! It’s also a pointless comparison because Hurts is a dual-threat quarterback who makes off-schedule plays, limits turnovers, uses his feet, and throws a really nice deep ball. Lawrence is a traditional pocket passer with some mobility. He logged 4,000 passing yards with 29 touchdowns with 12 interceptions last season. Add in 9 rushing scores and a career-high 359 ground yards. He had a nice year but that eight-game winning streak to finish the season included two wins over the Titans, two wins over Colts backup quarterbacks, and then wins over the Jets, Cardinals, and Chargers. The only decent team they beat was the Broncos. Then they got into the playoffs and had a really good to shot to take out the Bills on their home turf, but Lawrence threw a late pick and that was all she wrote.
There’s just no way anybody can say with a straight face that they would take Trevor Lawrence over Hurts right now, because that’s based purely on statistics. Lawrence hasn’t done 5% of what Hurts has done in the postseason, and to me that outweighs any other arbitrary channels for comparison.
