TNT Sports will open its sixth season of NHL on TNT from Stateside Live! in Philadelphia, prior to the highly anticipated season-opening showdown between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday, September 30with on-site coverage beginning at 6 p.m. ET prior to live game action at 7:30 p.m.

Fans can join in the festivities at Stateside Live! starting at 3 p.m. as the opening night studio show originates from the heart of Philadelphia’s Sports Complex, celebrating the renewal of one of hockey’s fiercest rivalries. The game is part of TNT Sports’ season-opening doubleheader, which begins with Penguins-Flyers at 7:30 p.m. and continues with the Los Angeles Kings visiting the Colorado Avalanche at 10 p.m.

Beginning at 6 p.m., NHL on TNT Face Off pregame show will deliver live interviews, special guest appearances, fan interaction and comprehensive analysis, hosted by Liam McHugh, alongside analysts Wayne Gretzky, Henrik Lundqvist, Anson Carter and Paul Bissonnette, ahead of puck drop at nearby Xfinity Mobile Arena. The studio team will also provide insight and commentary throughout the night, during game intermissions and through postgame, following the Kings-Avalanche showdown.

“Opening Night is always one of the most exciting nights on the NHL calendar, and there is no better place to begin our sixth season of NHL on TNT than Philadelphia,” said Craig Barry, Executive Vice President and Chief Content Officer, TNT Sports. “The passion of Flyers fans, the intensity of the in-state rivalry and the energy of a live audience at Stateside Live! will create an incredible atmosphere as we celebrate the return of hockey on TNT.”

Opening Night will showcase Philadelphia’s passionate hockey culture while bringing fans at Stateside Live! closer to the action as the NHL season gets underway.

“TNT will have a front-row seat to the passion, intensity, and excitement that make Flyers hockey so special,” said Keith Jones, President of Hockey Operations for the Philadelphia Flyers. “We’re proud to be able to showcase our city in front of a national audience, and with our fans and a rivalry matchup, it is going to be an unforgettable atmosphere to kick off the NHL season.”

Can’t wait for Biz Nasty to show his face in South Philadelphia. What’s his angle gonna be this year? Is he going to continue with the Flyers fans are “fucking morons” troll routine while defending his boy Rick Tocchet? Is he gonna stick his neck out there for TOCC? Or did the playoff series victory against the Penguins hit the reset button on all of this? Are we all sitting around the campfire playing acoustic guitar and singing Kumbayah now? Have the toxic Michkov truthers logged off because the guy is down 29 pounds from this same time last year? And have the blindfolded TOCC defenders logged off with them?

Hopefully we’ve turned that corner and moved on, because it was a terrible experience. One of the worst ever.

But yeah, this is pretty cool. Wayne Gretzky in town for the season opener. Flyers hockey once again relevant and paving the way for opening night. The Flyers are a big market draw! If you’re not Flyered up two weeks from now, you don’t have a pulse.
