Phillies in Position to Hit Yet Another Team Total Over

You can certainly say Phillies games have been entertaining in the last week.

Five of the last seven Phils games have had at least nine runs, including Tuesday night’s 8-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays.

That’s an important benchmark because Wednesday’s over/under sits at 8.5.

The Phils are a -142 money line favorite behind Cristopher Sanchez, who is opposed by Shane Baz.

Wednesday’s matchup is favorable to the Phillies as a whole, 1) Because Sanchez is on the mound and 2) Baz’s recent form isn’t great.

The Tampa Bay right-hander allowed seven runs on nine hits in his last start against the Kansas City Royals, and two starts prior to that, he let up five earned runs. Walks have also been an issue for Baz, who has had three or more in three games this season.

The over on Baz’s walks prop is juiced up to -165, but it’s worth buying the juice since the Phillies have drawn the sixth-most walks in the majors.

The Phillies’ team total is firmly in play as well. They’ve gone over that prop in three straight games and in five contests since the start of the Washington series last Tuesday.

Right-handed hitters have better overall numbers, including three home runs and a .721 OPS against Baz this season. J.T. Realmuto, Nick Castellanos and Trea Turner all have at least 24 hits and a .700 OPS against righties.

For PA betting promos and NJ sportsbook promos, I would try to combine those three hitters in a hit or total bases parlay. I’d add in the Phillies team total so you can meet the four-leg requirement for DraftKings’ SGP boost. FanDuel has a 30 percent boost on live MLB bets, which I would use on the Phillies in some capacity once the game starts. Note as well that Kevin’s bet of the day is a Phillies team total ladder at BetMGM, where you can get over 3.5, 4.5, and 5.5 at -160, +105, and +180, respectively.
