The Taijuan Walker Era in Philadelphia Has Come to an End

It had to happen. No sense prolonging the inevitable because Taijuan Walker has looked like Taijuan Walker this season, and much less like Cy-Juan, who had a good rebound season in 2024.

Wednesday night, he gave up four earned runs on eight hits over four innings of work, conceding two home runs in the process. He has a 9.13 ERA on the season and has more allowed runs than innings pitched. He’s in the final year of the four year, $72 million deal Dave Dombrowski gave him back in 2023.

Zack Wheeler will return soon, and with him, hopefully the rest of the rotation will get their act together, because they haven’t been good either.
