Donald Trump Wins the World Cup With Spain

President Trump has done it again.
One year after winning the Club World Cup with Chelsea F.C., he was back in “New York / New Jersey Stadium” with Spain to claim the Copa Mundial after a hard-fought 1-nil win over Argentina:

We saw this coming, didn’t we? He was gonna do the same thing he did last year, when he sort of shuffled off to the side without leaving the stage. FIFA President Gianni Infantino is laughing while trying to usher Trump off the stage, because he knows Trump ain’t gonna do anything except stand there on the end like he’s part of the team. At least Spain’s captain, Rodri, was polite about it and waited for Trump to move as far as he was gonna move before he lifted the trophy.
But the photos are hilarious. Trump is in every wide shot, every landscape photo that our image provider posted online. He’s standing there clapping like he just played 120 and completed 87% of his passes while logging eight recoveries and putting in five tackles. He looked like prime Roy Keane out there in the midfield.
Even funnier, the Mexican president and Canadian prime minister, Claudia Sheinbaum and Mark Carney, were on hand as well, but they didn’t hand out the medals or the trophy or get up on the stage. I guess Trump+Infantino was to be expected since the final was inside of an American stadium, but technically there were three host nations for this World Cup, so I dunno. It just adds to the all around quirkiness.
