Howard Eskin Wants to Know Why the Morons, Nitwits, and Dopes at Wawa are Charging So Much For Gas

A bunch of people brought this to our attention. It’s Howard Eskin going after Wawa on Twitter:
It’s a fair question. I think the answer to “why does Wawa charge more for gas?” is “Capitalism.” Right? The end. It’s because of Capitalism.
Or, more specifically, I think it’s because of convenience and familiarity. If you have a Wawa across the street from a shitty Sunoco, and the Wawa has nicer bathrooms and food and drinks, and you need to get coffee or something else inside the store, then you’re probably going there. You get your reward points tied to the Wawa app, I think it’s 5 points for every gallon of gas, and there’s the added incentive to buy there instead of somewhere else.
I could be wrong, but that’s what I think it is. If you’re a gasoline economics expert please email me with more details.

It’s Howard’s replies that are cracking me up. He’s had it with the morons, nitwits, and dopes replying to the Wawa question:
This last one is funny. Howard got wrecked in the comments from people saying that not all gasoline is equal. I think most folks know that. There are different types of detergent and additive put into these mixes. The best gasoline is considered “Top Tier,” and is sold at places like Shell, Citgo, Costco, Mobil, Marathon, and Exxon. This gas is better for your engine and fuel injection system. You can also have issues with water getting into the underground gasoline storage tanks and compromising quality, so there are a few different things to consider about gas quality, though I’d imagine the average person is just driving an average car and doesn’t think too much about what gas they’re putting in it.
Howard, of course, is just looking out for the people. He’s concerned about the “pain at the pump,” as they say on the news. “Gas prices are going up! Film at 11!” He wants the consumers of the Delaware Valley to save money instead of being gouged by these soulless corporations. The Burger King once said he’d run for Philadelphia mayor, but maybe his future is on the Delco Council. The “Delaware County County Council,” which has 1.8 stars out of 5 on Google. I think Howard could win election in Delco. There are enough idiots out there who still follow the king and would elect him to office. He can run as a Democratic Socialist of America and campaign with A.O.C. and Zohran Mamdani:
