Come out to Our Live Podcast at Carlino’s in West Chester and Stuff Your Face with Goodness

Kyle Scott - January 30, 2018

I had Russ write this because he lived on Carlino’s during college and figured that stamp of approval was somehow relevant in promoting our live podcast.

We’ll do it live (again)! Our last Crossing Broadcast Live at Carlino’s in Ardmore was such a resounding success that we’ve partnered with them to once again offer you, YES YOU, the opportunity to stuff your face with some of the finest Italian cuisine this side of Tuscany. This time, we’ll be broadcasting live from Carlino’s Market in West Chester TONIGHT from 7-9 PM. Why should you come? Other than the chance to meet yours truly (much taller in person, believe me) and Kyle – the founder of Philly’s most irreverent sports blog and, um, guy who never responds to any text messages ever – you will have the chance to walk away with a Super Bowl party catering spread. If you listen to the podcast, you’ll know that I survived my years at WCU eating Carlino’s for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; without them I’d likely be emaciated.

The menu at the last live show was incredible and included the following and more:

Tomato pie
Stromboli
Buffalo chicken dip, cheesy crab dip, and artichoke dip
Meatballs Wings– classic, herb roasted, and spicy
Antipasto featuring the an array of the finest meats and cheeses, all served with homemade Crostini

This is what that looks like:

To answer the internal conversation you’re having with yourself:

But what about the Sixers/Flyers game? There isn’t one on Tuesday night.

How much does the food cost? Is there a cover? It’s FREE and no!

Again, the aforementioned gameday spread is being provided by the fine folks at Carlino’s free of charge. If you feel so inclined – and you should – the market will be open for you to purchase assorted goods, meats, cheeses, desserts, and some of the finest imported Italian goods you’ll find anywhere. Oh, and meatballs. The meatballs!

Will there be beer? Yes. Details are being finalized on that front, so check for updates on who will be providing the bubbly on the official Facebook event or their Twitter account (@CarlinosMarket).

Food. Beer. Sports. Kyle. Russ. Crossing Broad writers. Super Bowl hype. Super Bowl catering spread giveaway. Crossing Broad apparel. Food. Beer.

What more could you ask for?

Live Podcast at Carlino’s Market in Ardmore

Kyle Scott - January 9, 2018

We are doing a live podcast from Carlino’s in Ardmore next Thursday, January 11, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

What’s in it for you? First off, FOOD. Excellent food. Russ has been stuffing his face with Carlino’s since his college days in West Chester, and he thinks you should, too. Carlino’s will be laying out a sampling of their gameday menu, perfect for tailgates, game watches or just everyday gluttony. Among the selections:

Tomato pie

Strombolis (consider this my official invite to Zoo With Roy)

Buffalo chicken dip, cheesy crab dip, and artichoke dip

Wings– classic, herb roasted, and, of course, spicy and delicious

Antipasto featuring the finest selections of meats and cheeses and homemade Crostini

Not sold yet? Well, you should be, because I can assure you eating that food spread will wow you much more than meeting me or Russ in person. But just in case you need a sweetener, Carlino’s will offer 10% off their gameday menu to Crossing Broad readers and give away at the event a $500 catering order for your big game party. $500 worth of food. Think about that for a minute. That’s almost as much as Jahlil Okafor used to eat before games (pre-vegan).

You want photos? Smoke on these:

More about Carlino’s: I love places like this. As a half-Italian, I grew up eating food the likes of which Carlino’s serves up. But even better than their homemade pasta and meatballs, Carlino’s offers excellent gameday snacks– be it wings, dips, platters and so on. Here’s a sample of their gameday menu from last year— it will differ slightly this year, but you get the idea. Consider this my special request for the broccoli rabe and sausage DIP (what sort of mad genius turned them into a dip?).

Anyway, come out for a live podcast on January 11, enter to win a $500 gameday spread, and be sure to visit Carlino’s in Ardmore and West Chester for all your face-stuffing needs.
