LeBron James is 100% Signing with Philadelphia/Utah/Cleveland/Los Angeles/Oklahoma City

Coggin Toboggan - June 28, 2018

NBA free agency doesn’t start until Sunday, but goddamn is the LeBron James rumor mill churning along at a fevered pace. One minute he’s spotted touring private schools on the Main Line for his kids, the next he’s filming commercials that 100% confirm he’s signing with the Lakers.

What can you believe? WHO can you believe? The rumors are everywhere, they’re nonstop, and most are so steeped in bullshit it makes Mike Missanelli want to scream at his producer all over again.

Let’s face it, in all likelihood he’ll probably just sign with the Lakers, along with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, they’ll lose in seven games to the Warriors in the Western Conference championship, and the Warriors will sweep the DeMar DeRozan led 76ers to cap off their three-peat.

But what’s the fun in that? We can all hope against hope that he goes somewhere else, can’t we? Besides, there are SO MANY juicy rumors swirling around the ether that at least one has to have some credence, correct? We need to do a deep dive into the gritty, all-encompassing LeBron rumors floating around social media, namely Twitter, to see if we can decipher what’s out there to believe, and what’s out there that just may not be true in the slightest.

Let’s go LeBron rumor hunting and see what we can find.

Chris Long Tells Rams Fans to Fill Their Stadium

Chris Jastrzembski - December 13, 2017

If you don’t follow Chris Long on Twitter, you should. He pretty much tweets about whatever he wants whenever he wants. He’s also an Award Winning Listener.

But nevertheless, some people were trying to get on him about his decision at the end of the game to celebrate with Eagles fans, along with his teammates, at the LA Coliseum.

From that video alone, there were five players that jumped into the crowd which was dominated with Eagles colors.

But Long was the only one that got pushed off by Rams fans, and he wasn’t happy about it, as the video shows. He spent his first eight years with the franchise when they were in St. Louis, not Los Angeles.

One LA reporter tried to get a story out of him, and Long gave her an answer. Continue Reading

Eagles Fans Invade Los Angeles, Part 2

Chris Jastrzembski - December 10, 2017

The Eagles were lucky to have two trips to Los Angeles this season. It’s better than going out to London, which they almost had to do.

Last time the Birds were out on the west coast, fans invaded the StubHub Center, a soccer stadium, for the Chargers game. It was an embarrassment for Los Angeles and how it wasn’t really a football town.

This week, Fox wanted to heavily promote today’s game against the Rams. They held their pregame show outside the LA Coliseum filled with fans from both teams. Except some Rams fans probably weren’t fans at all, just paid actors.

Regardless, Eagles fans came out in full force once again. More after the jump. Continue Reading

Iggy Trade Rumors Go Hollywood: Lamar Odom’s Name Surfaces

Ryan Gillon - June 23, 2011

Khloelamar

Hey, if this works out, you don't get JUST Lamar Odom… ugh.

Happy NBA Draft Day folks! Last year, the buzz surrounding the Sixers centered on who the team would take with the No. 2 overall pick. This year, the focus is whether or not a staple of the organization will be a Sixer tomorrow morning.

Since before the season ended, rumors surrounding a possible trade of shooting guard Andre Iguodala have dominated team talk (and that whole "imminent sale of the Sixers" thing of course). Monta Ellis was the first big name we heard from the rumor mill, shortly followed by Chris Kaman. Now, Sam Amick of Sports Illustrated is reporting that league sources have mentioned a possible deal being discussed for Lakers power forward Lamar Odom.

Amick goes into detail about what it would take to make the deal happen:

The deal would have to include another Lakers player in order to work under salary-cap rules. One of the sources said the Lakers might include small forward Ron Artest, who will be paid $21.7 million over the next three seasons and has an early-termination option for 2013-14.

Could you imagine? All of a sudden, Lamar Odom and Ron Artest (THIS Ron Artest) on your Philadelphia 76ers? I would say that something like this is a longshot, but with the way that the Sixers have actively been shopping Iggy, I suppose anything is possible at this point.

Odom will enter the final year of his contract with the Lakers next season, making just under $9 million. With the NBA's painful salary cap rules, the Sixers and Lakers can't make a straight-up swap involving him and Iguodala, because Iggy makes $13.5 million next season. This is why Artest's name (or another Laker) would have to be thrown into the mix.

On top of all of this, the Sixers would also be trading for Odom's wife, Khloe Kardashian (the one who is in no way, shape, or form what anyone would consider "physically attractive"). I hate the Kardashian's about as much as I love Kim's ass. Having Khloe in Philadelphia for the next year, accompanied by her awful reality show, will annoy and fascinate me (and you) all at the same time.

I'm starting to twitch…

The Odom rumors should be taken with a grain of salt. I don't know how seriously you should take the following blurb either. Amick threw this in at the end of his piece:

Iguodala is in play for Minnesota as well, according to a rival general manager who called the possibility of the Sixers acquiring the No. 2 pick in a package for their 27-year-old swingman "definitely real."

While it would be exciting for the team to have the No. 2 pick for the second year in a row, I'm not salivating over this year's draft class, and I'm not sure trading up is the answer for the Sixers. Having said that… I would probably still take it.

Like I've said in the past, it's time to turn the page on Andre Iguodala. Any half-reasonable move involving his departure, in my opinion, would be a step forward. It's hard to say if Iggy will be a Sixer tomorrow morning, but the possibility that he wears another uniform next season (or whenever they resume play) is more likely than ever.

With a potential NBA Lockout looming the team's brass knows that if they are going to make a move, there is no better time than now.  It is the driving force behind how actively the Sixers are shopping Iguodala right now.
