Crossing Broad Week 2 Eagles Picks

Chris Jastrzembski - September 14, 2018

After a Week 1 win over the Falcons, the Eagles will have had over a week since their last game as they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Tampa. After an unbelievable performance against the Saints, Ryan Fitzpatrick looks to guide the Bucs to their second win of the season over Nick Foles and the Birds, who haven’t lost a game since that crap game against Dallas on New Year’s Eve.

The Eagles are favored at -3.5, according to our friends at Tropicana.

Our predictions are after the jump: Continue Reading

Report: Nick Foles to Start Week 1

Chris Jastrzembski - September 1, 2018

Per Ian Rapoport:

It makes the most sense to be patient with your franchise quarterback. Why rush him and risk getting him injured again, perhaps even worse? He’s the future of the franchise.

He’s apparently very close to returning, which is a good sign.

What the “verge of starting” is I don’t know. But my gut thinks either Week 2 against Tampa Bay or Week 3 against Indianapolis.

Your Complete Eagles and Cowboys Betting Preview

The NFC playoff picture is a hot mess, but for the Eagles, things are pretty simple. Beat the Cowboys, move into first-place atop the NFC East, and live to fight for a division championship down the stretch. Lose and it’s over. Yeah, the Eagles wouldn’t be mathematically eliminated with a second loss to Dallas in five weeks, but they would need to run the table against a brutal schedule, while the Cowboys would need to

Eagles Roster Cuts Live Thread

Chris Jastrzembski - September 1, 2018

We’ll have meaningful NFL football games beginning in five days. And while you’re watching college football kick off, the Eagles and 31 other teams are cutting down their rosters to 53 players.

They have to get to that magic number by 4 PM today. Tomorrow will be the first day teams can make their 10-man practice squads.

The Eagles have reportedly cut the following players on Friday:

  • TE Billy Brown
  • QB Joe Callahan
  • WR Rashard Davis
  • OL Aaron Evans
  • DE Danny Ezechukwu
  • QB Christian Hackenberg
  • WR Darius Prince
  • TE Gannon Sinclair
  • C Jon Toth

We’ll update you on players who get cut today after the jump. Continue Reading

2018 Eagles Roster Predictions 1.0: Midway Through Training Camp

Chris Jastrzembski - August 6, 2018

We’re halfway through training camp and the first preseason game is Thursday.

Football is back.

There have been players who’ve done well and players that have struggled. Most of the strugglers are players you probably have never heard of and probably won’t ever again.

We’re still a ways away from the 53-man roster deadline of September 1, but the overall group of Eagles looks set for the most part.

Let’s take a stab at this: Continue Reading

Corey Graham is Back

Chris Jastrzembski - August 5, 2018

There it is.

Graham played in 14 games last season and 35% of the defensive snaps. He had two picks in the regular season and one in the NFC Championship game against Minnesota. He’ll wear No. 24 like he did last year.

This helps the safety depth a ton. After Malcolm Jenkins and Rodney McLeod, you have Tre Sullivan, Chris Maragos (who’s currently on PUP), and…other guys that were undrafted rookie free agents.

Sinclair has never played in an NFL game. He did have seven touchdowns as a senior at Missouri State in 2014. He probably won’t be here for long. He’ll wear No. 48.

NFL.com Ranks Andy Reid Ahead of Doug Pederson in Head Coach Power Rankings

Chris Jastrzembski - June 28, 2018

Even after winning a Super Bowl in his second season as a head coach, Doug Pederson still isn’t getting the respect he deserves.

NFL.com’s Elliot Harrison, the league’s power rankings expert, dropped his head coach list. The rundown is… questionable.

The top 10:

  1. Bill Belichick (Patriots)
  2. Sean Payton (Saints)
  3. Pete Carroll (Seahawks) (LOL)
  4. Mike Tomlin (Steelers)
  5. John Harbaugh (Ravens) (LOL)
  6. Mike McCarthy (Packers)
  7. Andy Reid (Chiefs)
  8. Doug Pederson (Eagles)
  9. Jon Gruden (Raiders) (LOL)
  10. Mike Zimmer (Vikings)

I don’t get how a guy who has won a Super Bowl and made his so-so backup quarterback look like one of the game’s best in a few weeks (without his Pro Bowl left tackle) is ranked behind Big Red.

Jon Dorenbos Got His Super Bowl LII Ring

Chris Jastrzembski - June 21, 2018

Another former Eagle got a ring. This time, it was everybody’s favorite long snapper Jon Dorenbos.

No disrespect to Rick Lovato who did a hell of a job last season, but Dorenbos should have arguably been on this team. He was due about $1 million last year before being traded to the Saints. That’s when team doctors made a lifesaving discovery that he had an aortic aneurysm.

He never played football again, but remained close to the Eagles organization during their playoff run. He and his wife traveled to Minnesota with the Eagles and got a picture with the Lombardi Trophy after the win.

Owner Jeffrey Lurie promised Dorenbos he’d get a ring. He finally got his today. Video after the jump. Continue Reading
