Darren Daulton, Just Months After Brain Surgery, Got Married This Weekend

Kyle Scott - December 17, 2013

Here’s Darren Daulton and his fiancée Amanda – along with Pat Burrell(!) and John Kruk – at Dutch’s wedding this weekend on a beach somewhere.

It’s great to see Dutch, now bald, looking so good and doing relatively well. In July, he underwent surgery to remove two tumors.

Also: How many bridesmaids and guests do we think Burrell absolutely shredded throughout the course of the weekend– three, seven, 462?! I’m thinking triple digits. Has to be.

Here’s the Phillie Phanatic Getting Down at a Wedding on Saturday Night

Kyle Scott - May 13, 2013

I’m guessing this wasn’t out of the goodness of his big, green heart, and that those furry moves were part of a paid appearance. But still, here’s the Phillie Phanatic getting down at a wedding on Saturday at what looks to be Northampton Valley Country Club. Girl look at that body.

This is totally better than the time the Phanatic showed up to a wedding in Avalon and then got sued for throwing a woman into a pool. I think.

As reader Matt pointed out, it’s like the time Michael Scott did Chris Rock. Only worse.

Where’s Scott Hartnell?!

Kyle Scott - August 20, 2012

Riley Cote, who is on a crusade to legalize hemp (for realstons), got married last weekend. Dan Carcillo, Scott Hartnell and Stanley Cup Champion Jeff Carter were all in the wedding party. Car Bomb didn’t bother to comb his hair for the occasion and Carts appears to have found the Casio watch I misplaced… in 1992. But hey, he’s a Stanley Cup champ and can pretty much do whatever he damn well pleases. Hartnell, though, looks like was holding up fairly well at the end of the night. This other guy? Not so much:

Big Piece Nuptials News: Krystle on “Say Yes To The Dress” and Couple’s Wedding Registry Online

Kyle Scott - August 15, 2012

Ryan Howard’s fiancée, Krystle Campbell, will appear on Say Yes To The Dress, on TLC, this Friday night at 9 p.m.

From Dan Gross, who has a picture of Krystle in the dress to which perhaps she said yes (Doc Seuss, motherfuckers!):

The couple are to wed Dec. 1, according to their online registry at Macy's, where the most expensive items are Swarovski crystal toasting flutes. If you're buying, they're asking for three pairs of the flutes at $390 per pair. The cheapest items on the registry are 13-inch washcloths. They cost $17.

I’m not even sure how to react to that.

Our friends from Busted Coverage discovered that the couple’s wedding registries for Bed Bath & Beyond and Williams-Sonoma are online. In fact, they bought the Piece and Krystle a $7.99 washcloth. Me? I’m entirely too cheap to do that. But, if you, as a generous reader, would like to get Mr. and Mrs. Piece a gift, may we recommend the $49.95 two-tone rolling pin or, better yet, the $22 melon scoop

Andy Reid and LeSean McCoy Attended Michael Vick’s Wedding, Where Security Alone Cost $300,000

Michael Vick got married this weekend and it wasn’t cheap.

According to the Miami site [via Pro Football Talk], Vick spent $300,000 on security for Saturday night’s festivities in Miami.

– A pre-wedding cocktail party overlooking the ocean.

Pool-side concerts by Gym Class Heroes (?), Maroon 5 (????) and Flo Rida.

– Andy Reid, LeSean McCoy, Plaxico Burress and other NFLers were in attendance.

 - Security was tight, as police were collecting cameras and cell phones from guests.

–  The menu: "lobster and oysters and shrimp, but also chicken and waffles, something that the Fontainebleau, one of South Florida’s most expensive hotels where wedding dinners start at $185-a-plate, had never served before."

Vick, of course, owed tens of millions of dollars to creditors, but it’s unclear how much he still owes. A report by TMZ earlier this year said Vick was within $400,000 of being in the clear.

UPDATE: As CB reader extraordinaire Ronald points out, the concert was part of the I Heart Radio Pool Party, not Vick's wedding.

This Couple Really Wants Scott Hartnell to Come to Their Wedding

Kyle Scott - December 6, 2011

Where’s Scott Hartnell?! Maybe at this June wedding.

I get many ridiculous (and appreciated) emails. Sometimes, though, they are just asking to be shared, like the one I received today from reader Brett. Him and his fiancée, Talia, want Scott Hartnell to come to their wedding… really. badly.

So badly, in fact, Brett has taken to tweeting (I call this stalking) Scott on a daily basis.

But that’s not working.

He asked me for a few ideas. Well, here’s one: Consider this your public invitation to Mr. Hartnell, who may now be forced to respond…

This is @Bertholomew, fiancé of @PrincessTalia23, and best friend of @DarylRocks1.  I’m sure you recognize us by the crazy wedding crasher/invitation tweets you’ve been receiving recently.

I’m sure you are wondering why we are trying to get Scott Hartnell to come to our wedding on June 23  I could give you the boring “I’m a huge flyers fan” spiel (which I am), but you don’t want to read that crap.  I guess I can attribute my dedication to you at Crossingbroad and your “Where is Scott Hartnell” posts.  These post made me laugh and I realized that Scott Hartnell is willing to go anywhere for a good time.  It seemed like if you were with Scott Hartnell, you were going to be in for a good time…a party animal you could say.  Thus giving me the idea to invite Scott Hartnell to my…excuse me…*our* wedding.  And with modern day media and the ability to interact with anyone at your fingertips, I started reaching out to him via twitter.  It started out as a joke, but now I tweet daily, usually once to throw out a joke about the wedding to him in hopes of catching his eye with it.  My fiancé and best friend do the same.  Somehow this is captivating us and we are now dead set on getting Scott Hartnell to our wedding.  I could have chosen Briere or Giroux and tried for the big star similar to the people who invited Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis to the Marine Ball..  That’s not my style.  I’m all about the party and Scott Hartnell is the guest of honor we want for that simple fact.  Guest list is at 325 people, so you know it’s going to be a party.  Hopefully a party where we can get you some “Where is Scott Hartnell” material.

We’re going to keep trying the twitter route, and we’ve offered a donation to his charity, now we’re looking for another way to reach out to him to get an answer.  YouTube seems like the next logical step, but any ideas or help you can offer is greatly appreciated as we try and get Scott Hartnell to our wedding.  Call me crazy, but I think it can happen.

Thank you,

Brett (@Bertholomew)

YouTube is good, Brett. And, depending on how protective you are of Talia, Scott is a single man… but that option is probably not on the table, so this is probably a good start.

The June 23rd wedding falls just a few days after the conclusion of the Stanley Cup Finals. Perhaps Scott can bring a silver-cupped +1?

UPDATE: So you're telling me there's a chance?

Guy Wearing a Wedding Dress Runs All Over Braves’ 10,000 Win Field

If you pound your chest in such celebratory fashion by mowing 10,000 into your field, you're just asking for a cross-dressing, Brian McCann look-alike to prance across your lawn. And that's exactly what happened last night in Atlanta:

Jayson Werth sizes up his white knight

We can only imagine the reaction had this happened in Philly. At least Nationals manager Davey Johnson knows what's up: [Washington Post]

“I thought that only happened in New York,” Nationals Manager Davey Johnson said of the interruption. “That was a pretty good open -field tackle, too [by security]. I’m just wondering was he getting married, or is he going to the wedding or coming from it. I don’t know.”

Plus one, Davey Johnson. Plus one.

Something about a dude wearing a wedding dress and a fuck me smile having grass stains on his knees is just funny.
