Phillies Fan Holds up Odd "Cum Husk" Sign

Cum Husk, Urban Dictionary has a cryptic definition for it, but perhaps when used in a sentence it is most disturbing:

stop husking cum and do the dishes, you lazy cum husk.

We would like to think it has something to do with corn, as referenced by the Maize Sheller Cum Husk Remover. "Maize" is corn, which, of course, was domesticated by the indigenous people of Mesoamerica (Mexico). Now, let's take that a step further and take into to account that the Phillies were playing the Arizona Diamondbacks last night. Arizona recently passed a controversial law on Mexican immigration. There was a Philadelphia based group picketing the law outside of the ballpark prior to last night's game, chanting "immigrants are people too."

According to these two articles (here and here), US corn subsidies have basically put a lot of Mexicans out of work, forcing them to find cheap labor across the border- a practice the Arizona immigration law aims to halt, effectively leaving Mexicans sans employment.

The whole issue goes back to corn, the Arizona Diamondbacks, and the protests outside the stadium, hence the sign, "cum husk."

Boom.

But that would be the intelligent way of looking at it.

It is something that a bunch of punk trolls made up on a website- that's not really worth the energy to click on. One reader tells us it's basically a bunch of kids who (are now trolling our comments) "didn't go to college and who live in their Mom's basement."

And that statement is probably true. Check out what one of their readers, Wild CrankyTrouble SteveMoosh (yep), wrote on his Facebook page last night:

I'm pretty sure most of what is on this site is inappropriate for kids. I agree it gave publicity to a bunch of nonsense, but it was something that was funny and talked about all over the internet. being one of the largest philly sports blogs, we had to cover it.
