You knew it was going to be a fantastic evening when Tom McCarthy’s screaming open went like this:
Brings us back to the decade when clearing levels of Pac-Man was cool, and the Phillies reached… the ultimate level.
Shoot yourself if you read that in T-Mac voice.
As you know, last night was Retro Night at Citizens Bank Park. We put together a little catalog – a diary, if you will – of the screen-grabbed goodness… including several pictures of Sarge, who began the night in what looked like a masterbatory bunker before setting out on a three-hour tour around the 100 degree ballpark.
I should tell you now, this post is best viewed while listening to Dave Gibson's tremendous Sarge Remix:

They definitely rubbed that sweat towel on their beef curtains.
So if the teams are all wearing uniforms from 1984, why can’t CSNPhilly just simply use the 1984 logos in the graphics? And if you really wanted to get into it, use the old PRISM logo instead of CSN’s. Tell them you want more, tell them you want PRISM!
Dear Phillies and CSNPhilly: The decade is written 1980s or ’80s, not 1980′s or 80′s. It’s plural or a contraction, not a possessive. Everything you’re showing tonight says 1980′s and is WRONG. Stop it. Gezus, even the bases have the punctuation wrong. Unless you’re talking about something that belongs to the specific year 1980 (as in, “I like 1980′s fashion scene, but 1981′s”), it is NOT a possessive, it is a plural, and is written 1980s.
Don’t get me started on the fact that the Phils are using a standard arch for the NOB (names on back) instead of the vertical arch they really used in 1984. Majestic fail.
Thanks for the entertainment this morning
@MPH…. thanks for attempting to suck the fun out of something cool. Jeeze…. Were all impressed with your nit picking abilities tho. Have fun correcting others around you, Im sure they enjoy that.
@ccbutts You’re my hero.
This is why no one invites you to parties, MPH.
Improper punctuation is the first step to Nazi takeover. Also, @ccbutts: *I’m.
lol
Also, this is why I am a well-paid, highly-respected writer, and you’re sweeping up at the Jiffy Lube. No matter how hard you care to justify your lack of education, the truth is you are judged – even subconsciously – by your ability or inability to use proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and word choice. That’s why your life and career are stagnant and unfulfilling, despite how adamantly you are going to argue in the contrary. Trust me, if Kyle’s blog posts were always full of misspellings and incorrect punctuation, no one – especially potential advertisers and partners – would take him seriously. Now I am going to go out and live my life, and you can sit here and throw your hate around while you masturbate to pictures of hot women you will never have. I will not be hijacking Kyle’s post further. Go Phils. Cliff Lee. That is all.
The above was not targeted at anyone in particular. Just a generalization. All in good fun. #coveringmyass
Hey MPH, I’m also a very highly-paid and respected communications professional and I join the others in saying GET OVER YOURSELF. Seriously? I imagine you are also one who makes the quotation signs with your hands and says “quote, unquote” when quoting someone else in converstaion. Sad.
Good writing inspires emotional and base reaction in those whom read it. Quality is job one.
*who. See, I am not immune. lol
Madson wore it best. He should keep the tailored uniform and stirrups look.
IM ON THE INTERNET HYPINZ MYZELF UP. I R SO COOL
@MPH “lol” is a contraction that should not be used in “quality” writing by a “well-paid, highly-respected writer.” Hop off your high horse and enjoy the post.
I’m not paid very well, and even I think you’re an asshat.
@MPH… damn dude(.) A little harsh don(‘)t ya think(?)Perhaps I don(‘)t pull in the coin that you do(…) But I have a loving wife(,) two healthy happy kids(,)and my mortgage payments are never late(.) But most of all(,) icouldgivetwoshitsifmypunctuationiscorrectonasportsblog… now go suck an egg you lonely loser
@ccbutts: TOO MANY COMMAS!!!
Damn, I really need to go look at myself in the mirror and re-think where my life is headed. lmao!!! But seriously, I thought it was a lot of fun watching the game. I loved seeing the old uni’s, even if they weren’t exactly perfectly 100% accurate.
@MPH… I hear ya. The improper use of the apostrophe is one of my pet peeves. Grammar and spelling mistakes are common place these days and no one seems to give a shit. More importantly, doesn’t Sarge look like he’s melting chocolate in the top pic?
Those chicks look like Retro hookers. Groose
Jesus MPH, your certainly don’t have to be an anal retentive in two consecutive entries:

Lighten up a bit, will ya? This country has other problems besides where to put apostrafees and other shyte punctuayeshun.
PS: To eloosidate T-Mac’s statement, technically 1980 was the last year of the 70′s (hahahah MPH), but the Seventies were really over by the time disco died and hip-hop and R&B funk and punk and pop rock righted the music wheel. Hahahahahahah. Ceeeeeell-ah-brate good times, COME ON! (We gonna have cellabrashun) Hahahahahah
Well, punctuation and blog pissing contest aside, thought they did a real good job with the game last night and the pics of the Phils in appropriate characters….Jimmy probably had that one of him as Prince put into a poster and hung in his locker.
MPH is a cocksucker, plain and simple. Anyone whose life is so pathetic they have to correct the grammar of anonymous blog posters to feel any sense of self worth got picked on in high school and never got over it.
I’d love to fuck that chick in the pic after j roll.
Sounds like 80′s Night at the ballpark had been a super cool event! Wish I had been there to see it all the fun live! And it was double cool to have seen Ryan Madson sporting those high stirrups! Awesome!
Madson is hot in any Phillies uniform.
Post the Cole Hamels Roadhouse pic!
Had the Rangers been in the Retro night, Ron Washington would have been Scarface, but not that pic. It would have been from the end, with a his face powdered sitting behind a moutain of cocaine…
MPH = douche nozzle
Sarge must be reallllyyyy out of shape. He was leaking like a shower head. WOW!
