When asked who is the best pitcher in the NL East, Mets pitcher Johan Santana claimed it was him. On Saturday, Phillies ace Roy Halladay pitched a shutout against the Mets. On Sunday, during a national broadcast, Johan Santana would choke on his own words, just like a true New York Met would.

I didn't have the Phillies winning this game, but I can honestly say, I have never been so happy to be proven wrong. To sum up the game for you: The Phillies kicked Johan Santana's ass. Santana, who had a sub 3 ERA entering today's game, would watch it climb to 4.50, as he allowed a career high 10 earned runs in 3 2/3 innings. The Phillies would hit a total of 4 home runs off of Santana, with the big blow being a grand-slam off the bat of Shane Victorino. In the 4th inning, Santana allowed 9 of the 10 runs he finished with. Phillies LHP Jamie Moyer would allow 5 runs on 2 homers. But, he would settle down, pitching 6 innings in the Phillies 11-5 victory over the Mets. Hey self-proclaimed, "best pitcher in the NL East;" On our team, it looks as if you could be our 5th starter.
