Welcome back to Citizen's Bank Park!

The Phillies are back from a less than stellar road trip to take on the Braves in a very big NL East series that could really change the team's momentum.  Being 5 games behind the Braves and 2 behind the Mets, they need something to change so they called on the Doc to get it done.

Roy Halladay pitched his 7th complete game of the year in front of 45,404 fans on 93 pitches in a 3-1 win over the Braves, keeping the Phils very much in reach of first place.  Doc picks up his 10th win of the season thanks to a little run support from a Greg Dobbs (not a typo) two-run shot to give the Phillies the lead in the bottom of the 6th (still terrible at 3rd base).  An RBI driven in by Juan Castro in the bottom of the 8th gives the Phillies a little insurance to finish things off.  The Braves only run was brought in by a Chipper Jones solo home run in the top of the first.

Roy Halladay gave another excellent performance and despite stranding quite a few runners, the Phils managed to get enough runs to edge the first place Braves in game 1 of this series.

After losing 3/4 to the Pirates, the Phillies really needed this win to get their spirits up.  If they can take this series with all of the injuries that team is dealing with, there is no saying how well the second half will be when everyone is back on their feet.  Taking this series is essential to reclaiming the top spot in the National League East.  Pull no punches Phils.

Tomorrow's pitching matchup is Jurrjens vs Hamels at 7:05p on CSN.

Note:  With numerous trade speculations floating around it's important to note that Dominic Brown hit his 4th HR with the IronPigs and is gathering a lot of fan attention.  Do you think he's ready to be brought up? What moves would you make to do so?  Share your thoughts below.
