Former Phils Are All The Rage
Barajas took Halladay deep last night
J.A. Happ and Rod Barajas continued to impact the Phillies last night.
Happ threw a two-hit shutout against the Cardinals, helping the Phils to extend their lead against them in the Wild Card standings to three games. The Giants are still one and a half games back.
Since joining the Astros, Happ has pitched at least six innings in all but one game, and has only allowed more than three earned runs once- both outliers coming in a seven run, one inning performance, in his previous start against St. Louis. For the year, he has a 2.89 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP. Oswalt has been as advertised, but Happ might not let us forget about this trade anytime soon.
Meanwhile, Barajas gave the Dodgers some insurance runs last night, when he hit his eighth home run in 11 games against the Phillies. Of course, the Dodgers didn't need it because the Phillies, um, failed to hit.
