Sean McDermott Fired

This is only surprising because Andy Reid just gave him a vote of confidence on Tuesday. Of course, if you watched Eagles football this year, you probably aren't shocked to see McDermott go.
The red zone defense was historically bad, pass coverage was suspect, and the Eagles failed to make critical mid-game adjustments (see Britt, Kenny). McDermott, who has been with the Eagles for 12 years, never got the defense to where it was under his mentor, Jim Johnson. Perhaps the expectations were unfair, but the defense was woefully bad this year and McDermott deserved to be relieved of his duties.
