Flyers Lose to Penguins in Another Shootout

Back-to-back shootout losses to the Captials and Penguins, both of whom were sans their stars- Ovechkin and Crosby. Not good.

On the plus side, Bob was outstanding.

He made remarkable athletic stops Thursday night including two kick saves on Alex Kovalev in the second period.

“I’m not happy because we lost, but I’m happy that I made a lot of stops,” Bobrovsky said through a translator.

He so happy, man.

Dave Isaac has the full recap. Highlight are after the jump.

  1. “I’m not happy because we lost, but I’m happy that I made a lot of stops,” Bobrovsky said through a translator.
Not enough stops, Bob. Not enough.

  2. I take back what I said. If it weren’t for Bob, the Flyers would’ve been whacked as the offense never left the locker room last night.

  3. Bob played out of his mind. It’s great how HE can bounce back, but the entire team has to. The 2nd and 3rd periods of the Caps’ game was the best hockey I have seen the Flyers’ play as of late. It’s a shame it didn’t carry over. Not liking this cooling off streak going into the playoffs.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to tell all of the people ripping the Flyers’ now (probably still on the bandwagon from last year’s run) to stop rooting for the Flyers and get back to their Phils’ Opening Day countdowns.

  4. Bob was truly spectacular, he carried the team. They are lucky that he got them a point. Lavs oughta bring Z in for Leino or Carts, they look really tired. So does O’Donnell.

  5. What Bob did last night says a lot about him. He was pulled from the Caps game, and then came back with an outstanding performance.
