Starting tonight… both of them

A couple of quick notes:

Some people have inquired whether this section is advertising or not. In short, it is. To continue doing what we do, revenue needs to be generated. We try to separate content and advertising as best we can. Content here, ads off to the right. The stuff we put there and often in their own posts are generally tickets, t-shirts, and autograph signings- things that we think will interest you. When you shop with a partner like Philly Phaithful or BC Sports, that benefits this site, which, presumably, you enjoy. When you buy tickets from Crossing Broad Tickets, your sale is completed through larger sites like StubHub, TicketsNow, eBay, etc. We get a small percentage for referring the sale. The service we provide aims to save you a step in shopping by rounding up all of those available tickets and putting them into a nice, digestible format. So, thank you for your continued support. And next time you are in the market for tickets, t-shirts, apparel, autographs, etc., please click on one of those links over there on the right. It helps us continue to do what we do. To the promos…

– There are a total of 1,000 tickets remaining for Chase Utley’s return tonight. Seats for as low as $30 are available. Thinking of going? Keep checking Crossing Broad Tickets throughout the day, prices usually come down as it gets closer to game time.

– Philly Phaithful is having a huge dads and grads sale this week- take 20% off all order with code summertime. That’s all that needs to be said, check it out.

Meet Cole Hamels. Manoa Shopping Center. June 25th. 10 A.M. – 12 P.M. All of the details are at BC Sports.

– Finally, our deal on Soul tickets has been extended. Get $33 tickets for only $15 to any game! Click here to pick up a couple.

The roundup:

– Chase Utley hath returned. Not to toot our own horn, but confirmation of his return was first reported right… hither… I mean, who the hell else found his limo driver and Single-A teammate? No one, that’s who.

– The Phils signed Scott Podsednik to a minor league deal. That’s great if this was 2006, but it’s not. He was released earlier this year by the Blue Jays after struggling with plantar faciitis. Still, he put up pretty good numbers last year. I predict he’ll see some time this year.

– Mets owner Fred Wilpon took a pretty substantial swipe at Jose Reyes in this article in the New Yorker. Fascinating read:

“He thinks he’s going to get Carl Crawford money,” Wilpon said, referring to the Red Sox’ signing of the former Tampa Bay player to a seven-year, $142-million contract. “He’s had everything wrong with him,” Wilpon said of Reyes. “He won’t get it.”

– Joakin Noah called someone a faggot last night.

– Carlos Ruiz (the futboler) had a ridiculous goal on Saturday in a 2-1 shootout.

– The Dodgers fan who beat up a Giants fan was arrested this weekend.

– Ryan Madson didn’t choose “Don’t Stop Believing” as his closer music. It was given to him by the team after first being played in San Francisco- the same song the Giants used last year as their awful anthem. Madson told Kevin Cooney he will switch to gangsta rap, Phil Collins, or Cindy Lauper.

– Fat Joe is officially on the DL. The Vanimal will pitch tomorrow night.

– Philly Sports Daily's own Steve Bucci has a new book out on Steve Carlton. Check it out.
