Well, look at it this way: we could be in Manchester (for those who don’t know, or care, both Manchester United and Manchester City were knocked out of the Champions League today– think Phillies and Yankees missing playoffs)… but it still sucks to be an Eagles fan right now.

Here are a few updates:

Andy Reid, who at this point I’d imagine wouldn’t tell the local media what color an orange is, not surprisingly refuted a Pro Football Talk report from Sunday which said that if Big Red didn’t fire Juan Castillo, he himself would be fired.

Here’s what Reid told reporters today. Quotes via Tim McManus: [Philly Sports Daily]

“Nobody has approached me on it,” said Reid. “My mind is to continue to get better as coaches and players. My mind goes no further than that. That’s where I’m at. We’re right in the middle of this thing and we have to continue to get better; that’s what we have to do.”

Have to do a better job there, no doubt. However, the report, which said Reid could save his job by firing Castillo, did seem a bit simplistic. Either way, someone’s lying– fingers crossed that Reid gets fired either way.

Meanwhile, in da club (or somewhere other than the middle of the field), some DeSean Jackson news:

Philly.com’s Dan Gross reports that D-Jac got it in this weekend (figurative?). He was seen canoodling with Esther Baxter at his birthday party at G Lounge Sunday night.

On Monday, he brought Mya (yes, fucking Mya) to the Philadelphia Sports Fans Choice Awards at the Radisson Warwick. Fancy.

Other Eagles stuff:

Tim McManus has an excellent story on Jeremy Maclin's health scare from this summer over at Philly Sports Daily.

Snoop Dogg wants D-Jac be paid, and for Bill Cowher to be the next Eagles coach. That video, an interview with 96.5, is after the jump.
