image from mobilwi.typepad.com

This is our third annual “Top Ten Philly Sports Moments of the Year.” You can find lists from 2009 and 2010 here and here. We will be rolling out the moments through New Year's Day.

19 innings. Wilson Valdez shaking off Brian Schneider Dane Sardinha. Carlos Ruiz playing third.

Does this really need any more description?

I will refer you to our It Got Weird and post-game video posts to re-live the most memorable Phillies moment of the year.

  1. Jeremy, it figures that Laddie would screw that up. He can’t even claim that it slipped his mind, cause he missed it in the first place. It was so late by the time Wilson got to the mound that Boyo was already stone cold passed out from drinking all those razzberry sorbay vodtkas.

  2. Sardinha, not Schneider.
Great game. Watched the whole thing. I thought I’d fallen asleep and was dreaming as they went through the Polanco-to-second, Ruiz-to-third, Sardinha-behind-the-plate, and Exxon-to-the-mound shenanigans.
That deep sac fly by Ibanez was a thing of beauty.

  3. Don’t understand why this isn’t number one. Valdez’s hat’s in the Hall of Fame for God’s sakes! That’s how noteworthy it was!
