Voracek!
The always reliable Czech press is reporting that Jakub Voracek has signed a four-year deal with the Flyers. Translated:
Priority in long negotiations getting more famous names from the free-market players. But now, the future James Voráček with Philadelphia again tightly linked. According to iSport.cz at night on Thursday caught up negotiations on a new agreement under which the Czech world champion for the next four years earning a total of $ 17 million.
Right. What they said.
Caution: Overseas press, especially through translation, is not always reliable. Though it’s worth mentioning that Jaromir Jagr wrote a blog for the same website. The Flyers have not confirmed the deal yet.
Voracek was a restricted free agent and there was some doubt as to whether he would be a Flyer long-term. He’s only 22 and showed some promise last year, scoring 18 goals in 78 games, but was still mentioned in many trade rumors.
As you know, Voracek and Sean Couturier (draft pick) were the return the Flyers received from the Blue Jackets for Stanley Cup Champion Jeff Carter.
UPDATE: Tim Panaccio confirms it.
