Vai Sikahema Tweets About Punt Return Record Being Broken, Hears About it From Howard Eskin

Published:
Last night after most of you likely fell asleep from an overabundance of not caring about the Eagles, Damaris Johnson returned a punt 98 yards, breaking an Eagles record held by Vai Sikahema, who had an 87-yard return in 1992.
Sikahema (I think jokinginly) tweeted about it:
Poor guy. No, not because his record was broken… but because he had to endure a seemingly unnecessary chiding from Howard Eskin:
This town, sometimes.
…
Meanwhile, you would never know the Eagles are 3-9 and the most hated team in the history of Philadelphia sports by looking at the game notes on their website. The headlines: The Bryce is Right (no mention of his fumbles), Return to Sender (about Johnson's return), The Book on the Rook (about how great Nick Foles has been), King Henery (obvs), Offensive Quick Hits (somehow, they found positive stats about Jeremy Maclin), Good Halftime Adjustments (they were leading at halftime and then after the game they weren't), Defensive Nuggets… which we'll let you read:
The Eagles are the only team in the NFL that has not allowed a 100-yard rusher this season … DE Brandon Graham registered a sack and a half, marking his first multi-sack game … DE Trent Cole added a half sack and now has 70.0 for his career.
Glass half full.
