Some food warehouse in North Philly (which sounds like just about the unsexiest thing ever) is basically filled with animals and their shit. A lawsuit filed today by the US (via CBS Philly) says that a November inspection of New Rich City Trading Corporation*, a Philly food warehouse and distribution center, uncovered dogs, cats and other animals roaming freely throughout the facility, which, of course, led to the discovery of… rodent, canine, feline and avian fecal matter in and around large boxes of food that was intended for humans to eat.
To be fair, rodent shit is basically a delicacy at some Philly eateries, so that’s nothing new. But dogs and cats and birds shitting around your food like there ain’t no tomorrow? Gross. Gross. Gross. Gross. Gross. Oh God that’s gross it even hardened and dehydrated like what happens when dog shit sits in the sun too long.
New Rich City has failed four FDA inspections since 2011. I guess bringing in other cats and dogs so the animals can become co-dependent and then ripped out with strings isn’t a viable solution after all:
It’s always sunny here.
*I love the smile on the chick’s face like: “Haha oh well they caught us running an animal shelter amongst your Bumblebee Tuna** pallets.*** Guess the jig is up.“
**I have no idea what was in those boxes and I don’t want to get sued.
***Pallet is an underused form of ironic measurement. Bringing that back.
