Better Rant: Jon Stewart on Wolf Blitzer or Keith Olbermann on the Nationals and Major League Baseball

Screen Shot 2013-09-18 at 12.46.23 PMScreen Shot 2013-09-18 at 12.46.15 PMYou could see both of these coming a mile away.

In one corner, Wolf Blitzer and his screaming nonsenstities during live coverage of the Navy Yard shooting were just begging to be shredded by Jon Stewart.

In the other corner was the Bryce Harper Tweet indicating that the Nationals would wear Navy hats… only you knew that the team or MLB, as they’ve been known to do before, would screw it up and come off looking selfish and disconnected in what should have been a simple tribute. Someone like, say, Keith Olbermann would be there to point out the hypocrisy.

Well, neither Stewart nor Olbermann let us down.

First up: Olbermann, with his rant on how the Nationals and Major League Baseball ejaculated this situation into a tissue of unfortunality:

Meanwhile, on The Daily Show, Stewart picks up where my hating of Wolf Blitzer left off— shredding Blitzer’s entire network for their coverage on Monday, in two different segments. Those videos, easily of the must-watch variety, are after the jump.

  1. what they should have done is worn the hats anyways and then had the world see the MLB fine baseball players for memorializing the people lost. that would turn some heads

  2. the olbermann rant was as spot on as it gets. haven’t even watched the jon stewart videos yet but olbermann set that up beautifully and absolutely murked MLB

  3. I’m no fan of Olbermann, but I appluad the guy for how he brought the hammer down on MLB. Bumbling Bud Selig and his cronies would’ve gotten so much good press if they let the Nats do their tribute, but NOOOOOO! They had to play the bad guy, and, once again, they look like smacked asses as a result of their shortsightedness.
