Allen Iverson Will Officially Announce His Retirement at the Sixers’ Home Opener Just Three Short Years Since Last Playing in the NBA

Voila_Capture231Chris Broussard has some information he would like to yell at you: SOURCES SAY ALLEN IVERSON WILL OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCE HIS NBA RETIREMENT AT THE SIXERS’ HOME OPENER VS. MIAMI ON OCTOBER 30.

I love Iverson, but I still don’t it. He hasn’t played in the league since before the iPad came out (THE FIRST ONE!). Do we really need a retirement announcement?

Ohhhh… the Sixers want to sell tickets. I get it now.

  1. If I could get rid of one person at ESPN, it would start with Chris Broussard. If I could get rid of one sports network, it would be ESPN.

  2. If the Sixers just wanted to sell tickets they would have done this another night. They don’t need to do this when they are playing the Heat to sell tickets, the Heat will sell enough tickets……….get it now?

    1. …except that of you go to the official Sixers site and search for tickets for this game you’ll find A TON available in every single section in the arena. I’m one of the idiots that would pay just to go and see this because I love Allen but they want $50 to sit in the last row of the upper deck. Those same seats were $10 last year. Pass.

  3. Nothing but love for Bubba Chuck.
All of our athletes in town should put out the way he did every night.

  4. Poor planning by the Sixers who should have no trouble selling out the home opener, what with the Lebrons coming to town. They should save Allen’s retirement announcement for when a bottom feeder like Charlotte or Sacramento visits.

  5. This game wouldn’t have been a sell out just because the Heat are in town. Iverson retiring will probably make it be one. Not paying $50 to sit against the back wall, though.

Last year’s home/season opener only sold out because there was some hope for that squad. The team was coming off a playoff run, Jrue was the new leader, and fans truly believed the BS that Bynum would come back.

This team is a NBDL squad. They got blown out by the freaking Bobcats this afternoon. I highly doubt they’d sell out to see LeBron and Co. stomp a team who’s most recognizable player is Evan freaking Turner.

  6. You can definitely see your skills within the work
you write. The arena hopes for more passionate writers like
you who are not afraid to mention how they believe.
At all times follow your heart.
