The Flyers Have Re-Signed Old Man Timonen to a One-Year Extension

The Flyers announced that they have re-signed Kimmo Timonen to a one-year extension. Kimmo was toying around with the idea of retiring after last season, according to reports, but you never got the vibe he was quite done. At times, he looks slow, overmatched and like he’s about 70% of what he once was… but that’s still enough to make him one of the Flyers’ most reliable defensemen. Sadly. So, we welcome him back, I guess?

  1. Could the same dark blood magic that has kept Ed Snider alive for centuries be used to reanimate/recapitate Dmitri Tertyshny?

  2. Snider told Hextall to finish rebuilding, and he thought he meant Finnish rebuilding!

(Thank you folks. I’ll be at Pitchers Pub for Quizzo all weekend. Stop in and get your discounted tickets for Two Funny Philly Guys, next month in Phoenixville.)

    1. I’ll also be signing copyies of my book, about me and my Dad trolling for honeys in the Crest back in the 70s.

      1. I have been on vacation since the beginning of June and totally forgot about that sorry pompous ass of a “comidian” (notice the air quotes) big daddy graham. Thanks for reminding me about him and ruining my nights for a while

        1. Not only did I notice the air quotes, but I also noticed the Delco-spelling of the word “comedian”!

  3. Yo, dis is a decent signing. I mean da guy is a little over da hill but da guy is a veteran and can still bring something to da table. I’m okay wit dis. Hexy is aiight in my book. No fugazi.

  4. You can’t be mad at Kimmo for a 2 mil cap hit. That’s a nice contract for the Flyers and good on Kimmo for not holding them hostage for money…1 year 1 last shot at a cup for the guy…shame he chose this team for his last hurrah

      1. not without paying some salary which counts against the cap. nobody wants that garbage at that price.

  5. Ghost was never coming up this year. Give the kid a year in the AHL. If he wows them in camp. they’ll stash a vet in the minors.

  6. Homer would have signed Kimmo to a 3 year extension at $12mil. He’s the heart and soul of the defense. Nothing wrong with this move.
