Good morning. I’m back after basically three weeks off. I’m married, peeling from a pretty bad sunburn in Riviera Maya, and the dog is doing better. You may be hating life today – the day after Fourth of July weekend – but I’m completely reenergized and ready to go, even woke up with a little pep in my step as the idea for a brilliant G arrest shirt germinates.

Also, Jim deserves a lot of credit for killing it the last few weeks. He started this job on June 9, and after his first week, thanks to circumstances controllable and not, he was basically on his own for the better part of a month. That’s not a particularly easy task – writing for a new audience of tens of thousands, blindly and without an editor – but he pulled it off, quite well.
