We are the Nationals.

The Bassmaster Elite Series Professional Tournament – proper title is very important – is coming to Philly August 7-10 as the best anglers from around the globe will fish in the beautiful Delaware River. That’s perfect timing for bass fisher, crop duster and former Phil Roy Halladay, who will presumably be in town for Alumni Weekend, which is typically one of the most attended weekends at CBP. This year, there will be a Roy Halladay bobblehead giveaway, Charlie Manuel’s Wall of Fame induction, and Alumni Day. Sounds like a hot ticket.

Not really.

The Phillies sent some sort of communiqué to BASSMASTERS offering buy-one, get-one for the week leading up to Alumni Weekend and $6 tickets for seats normally priced at $38 [UPDATE: I’m dsyelxic] $6 off tickets normally priced at $38 [thanks to (@BastardSOR) for pointing this out]. Let me repeat that: Alumni Weekend, Citizens Bank Park, Roy Halladay bobblehead, Charlie Manuel Wall of Fame induction. You’d think these would be slam-dunk sellouts, or close to it. Nope. Nope. Not at all. Discounts for masters of basses.* This makes me sad, and it should make you sad, too.

*And you. Just use code BASS14 at checkout.

  1. It says “$6 discount per ticket”, not $6 for a ticket. Get your neatly coiffed head out of your ass.

  2. We are the Mets, Nationals, and Marlins all rolled into one fucked up shitty baseball franchise. Hope everyone enjoyed the 6 years we got to bash on them. Amaro and Montgomery have ruined this franchise for another 33 years at least.

  3. Quality articles or reviews is the key to attract the
viewers to pay a quick visit the web site, that’s what
    this web page is providing.
