The results of Evan Mathis’ MRI are in, and they are not great, but could be worse. According to the Inquirer, “Eagles guard Evan Mathis will be out for an extended period after an MRI revealed an MCL sprain of his right knee on Monday.” Mathis will get a second opinion on Wednesday, but while Mathis’ injury won’t likely be season-ending, it will take him out of action for much of the season. In addition, Allen Barbre has a high ankle sprain and could also miss several weeks. The Eagles’ now depleted O-line, an issue Eliot Shorr-Parks mentioned he was concerned about in the latest edition of Crossing Streams, will undoubtedly be the main focus going forward.
