Yesterday, Ed Rendell called into the radio show of reader-favorites John Marks and Sean Brace. He was asked what he thinks about Chris Christie’s Cowboys fandom. He was not kind.

“It indicates a basic inferiority complex. If you are a Jersyite or a Pennsylvanian and you root for the Cowboys, it means you’re not secure in yourself and you wanted to root for a team that, in your youth, was a constant winner.

That’s part of the Chris Christie “mystique” or what he thinks is his “mystique” — that he’s a tough guy that he doesn’t care. That he’s a Cowboy fan and if you don’t like it you can shove it, you know.

How can a Jersey guy be a Cowboy fan, it’s pathetic.”

Gotta give Rendell credit here– a dig at Cowboys fans and a not-so-thinly-veiled political swipe. A true twofer.
