Well, nothing. As it relates directly to the Phillies.

Late last night, Jayson Stark said there were “multiple paths” to finishing up the Rollins deal, but doesn’t doubt that it gets done. That may cause some (myself included) to wonder if that means there’s larger trade coming, one that includes Cole Hamels or Dreamboat Chase. Jim Salisbury writes that Utley is not included in the deal. He didn’t say anything about Hamels’ involvement, however.

Meanwhile, Meghan Montemurro of the Wilmington News Journal keeps calling the Rollins thing “rumors,” which, I think, is a poor choice of words since the “reports” are coming from so many respected writers (Salisbury, Heyman, Olney, etc.). But this Tweet…

… had people all worked up last night. My take? Amaro called Rollins and said: “The deal is not quite done yet, but do you have Louis Vuitton bags? You probably do. I mean, you have to, right? You’re gonna want to pack them. LA appreciates that kind of thing.”

All the while, Brett Myers, who seems generally angry at things in the same way that Mitch Williams seems generally angry at things, tweeted one fan and claimed Rollins is being moved because Ryne Sandberg doesn’t like him:

That seems like an oversimplification, but it is an interesting exchange.

Oh, and the Dodgers, on the heels of acquiring Rollins (not done) and trading Dee Gordon and Dan Haren to the Marlins in exchange for top prospect Andrew Heaney [UPDATE: Whom they plan to send to the Angels for Howie Kendrick] and others, traded (or will be trading) Matt Kemp to the Padres for catcher Yasmani Grandal and others. This, folks, is the Dodgers’ new brainy baseball execs at work.
