The Sixers have reportedly acquired the man, the myth, the hilarious legend JaVale McGee from the Denver Nuggets, along with a first round pick (via Oklahoma City). Here’s a sampling of why the internet loves JaVale McGee:
And that first round pick, according to Pro Sports Transactions, is a protected 2015 first rounder. The pick came to the Nuggets from the Cavaliers in the Timofey Mozgov trade, and is protected as such:
2015 first round pick (protected top 18 in 2015, top 15 in 2016-17, else 2018 second round pick and 2019 second round pick)
Something tells me the day is just beginning, but we get to laugh about JaVale McGee and get a (potential) first round pick? What did we do to deserve this?
UPDATE: The Sixers sent rights to Cenk Aykol to Denver for this deal. Who? What? This:
Sam Hinkie turned Thad Young into two potential first rounders.
