Dom Brown is still sitting down in the minor leagues. It’s something we’ve become used to seeing — Dom sent down as he slumps, to try to get his swing/rhythm/eye back — but it’s a little different this time. Since he was sent down, Maikel Franco has been called up and immediately become everyone’s favorite Phillie. Cody Asche was sent down to learn how to play the outfield and called back up 18 days later. And Dom is still there. It’s a bit of a bummer when you really think about it.

But according to Greg Joyce at Lehigh Valley Live, Dom’s taking it in stride, which is sadder. “I’m not disappointed in Dom Brown at all,” IronPigs manager Dave Brundage said. “We need to control the things we can control and go about it that way. (If) we need to make some more noise, then so be it. Get your name in the hat, just like everybody else … He’s gone about it the right way.”

One of the ways he can begin to make noise down there is by showing off some power. He’s been hitting for contact but has yet to hit a homer in Lehigh Valley and boasts a .302 slugging percentage. But he’s working on it, as evidenced by this super depressing sentiment:

On Wednesday, Brown hit two home runs during batting practice at Coca-Cola Park.

Oh man, Dom. Are you okay? I’m getting a little depressed for you. Are they at least feeding you, man? I guess that’s all that matters.
