DeMarco Murray isn’t quite Emmitt Smith. He’s not Smith in ability, and he’s not Smith in importance to the Cowboys organization. Still, they’re both former Cowboys running backs. Murray left and came to the Eagles. Smith left at the end of his career, basically after the Cowboys wanted to move on. But could Smith ever see himself doing that Murray did, and leaving Dallas to go to the Eagles? “No.”

Speaking to John Clark, Smith gave the Eagles kudos, but said he wouldn’t have done it himself:

“I couldn’t imagine being in that position at all. I like to think that Philadelphia, although as much as they hate the Dallas Cowboys, love to get quality football players on their football team, and DeMarco Murray happened to be one of those guys … I don’t think it switches the balance of power. I think the balance of power still has to be played between the goal lines … but I still think our Dallas Cowboys are a team that you have to deal with and you cannot take us lightly.”

Dude’s still loyal. He’s no Troy Aikman.
