Jeff Blumenthal, writing for the Philadelphia Business Journal:

Marc Rayfield, senior vice president and Philadelphia market manager for CBS Radio, has been promoted to head the company’s New York City market.

No word on who will replace Rayfield in Philadelphia but he keep the Main Line home he shares with his wife and two daughters while he commutes to Manhattan and rents an apartment there.

What does this mean for WIP? In the short-term, very little. WIP Operations Manager Andy Bloom – not Rayfield or Spike Eskin – is the one tasked with making major programming decisions. But, one might have to wonder how a new boss will handle Bloom– who has earned himself a reputation amongst his peers and colleagues for being at best a loose cannon (like the sort of person who would send a weird, confrontational text to his competition at 1 a.m. a la Frank Langella’s Richard Nixon and that character’s late-night phone call to Michael Sheen’s David Frost) and at worst a disruptive A-hole who is responsible for recent discord at the, much of it resulting from his backing of rotund lightning rod Josh Innes. Should a new boss not carry with him a leash long enough for Bloom, well then maybe there could be some notable changes. But for now, this means very little to your daily listening adventures. TOKEN MUSIC:
