So, how did Neighbor Mike’s season-long rankings go over earlier this week? Just great. I fielded texts – from the guy whom I can literally see out the window – bitching about Jim, who wrote up the post:

Voila_Capture 2015-09-11_10-57-57_AMVoila_Capture 2015-09-11_10-58-27_AM

So, I’ll be writing Neighbor Mike’s Week 1 Draft Kings picks (based on value) this week, perhaps to save Jim’s life. Remember: in Draft Kings, it’s not about picking the best, most expensive players. Everyone grabs an Aaron Rodgers, or Gronk. It’s about spending the money wisely. These are Neighbor Mike’s best Week 1 Draft Kings values, in his actual words for fear of retribution to my Azaleas:

QB

1) Sam Bradford

PHI@ATL

$6900

Doesn’t take a homer to know Bradford is gonna blow up. Should be lots of offense against Falcons defense that gave up 398 yds/gm in 2014. Get his big stats cheap.

2) Carson Palmer

NO@ARI

$6500

Saints were 25th in pass defense in 2014 and already lost their top corner Keenan Lewis to injury and still no Jairus Byrd.

3) Marcus Mariota

TEN@TB

$6000

I love GOOD quaterbacks who can run. And in his first NFL start, he should take off a lot.

RB

1) Lamar Miller

MIA@WAS

$5500

Getting a #1 RB ready to breakout big time in what looks like a much improved offense for only $5500 looks like a steal to me.

2) Doug Martin

TEN@TB

$4500

Looked good in pre-season and Lovie Smith apparently loves him. Should get a lot of use to take pressure off of Crab Legs.

3) Darren Sproles

PHI@ATL

$3300

Sproles looks to be used all over the field and could be in line for 5+ receptions every week. Price tag is worth taking a chance on him breaking one.

WR

1) Jarvis Landry

MIA@WAS

$5600

Nothing flashy, but he will be a receptions beast as Tannehill’s favorite option.

2) John Brown

NO@ARI

$4500

This pricetag is the steal of the week against New Orleans’ horrific defense. This game will be a shootout and he should make a couple BIG plays. STEAL.

3) Davante Adams

GB@CHI

$4400

Randall Cobb is still hurting, and the Bears defense is sore. Could be big time hit or miss, but the upside with Aaron Rodgers could be ridiculous

TE

1) Delanie Walker

TEN@TB

$3400

Coming off a good season with some bad QB’s, could be Mariota’s #1 target. Look for 6-8 receptions with some breakaway ability.

2) Owen Daniels

BAL@DEN

$3400

He’s Peyton Manning’s tight end and a favorite Kubiak. Pretty solid option here.

3) Richard Rodgers

GB@CHI

$2500

Another player looking to cash in on no Jordy and a hurting Cobb. Listed as the #1 TE, could be the begining of a breakout season. The price tag opens lots of options elsewhere.

Defense

1) Jets

CLE@NYJ

$2900

They’re at home against Cleveland that should be good enough. But also will have a fired up Revis and Cleveland has Josh McCown and no WR to speak of. Could get ugly.

2) Minnesota

MIN@SF

$2800

Vikings are an underrated defense going against a horrible Kaepernick.

3) Tennessee

TEN@TB

$2800

Always love a defense against a rookie QB. If there are hot chicks eating crab legs in the stands, it’ll get ugly fast.

There you have it. Mike’s lineup will be posted the following week, all season long, so you can hold him accountable. He might just be lurking in our CB Week 1 contest… which there is still time to sign up for.
