So, as it turns out, the Giants were actually so much dumber last night than we thought they were. And that’s saying something.

After his 1st and 2nd down rushing attempts didn’t get him into the end-zone to make it a two-score game with under two-minutes left, the Giants took the ball out of Rashad Jennings’ hands and let Eli Manning dope around and throw the ball away, stopping the clock. But it wasn’t Jennings’ fault, as he told press after the game (though his quote seems to just now be gaining some steam):

“They told me not to score.”

WHY? WHYYYYY? That makes no sense at all. Sure, you want to make sure the Cowboys have the ball with the shortest amount of time left on the clock possible when you’re up by one score or less. If you’ve got a two possession lead… well. Tom Coughlin left points on the board on purpose and stopped the clock for reasons unknown to other humans. It’s like the Giants saw how much of a mess the Redskins are and we’re like “we can top that!”
