Useless Fantasy: Create Your Philly Sports Talk Radio Dream Lineup Using $50,000
Every time I do an Ask Me Anything I’ve been asked for my Philly sports talk radio dream lineup. I didn’t answer in the AMA because it would’ve taken way too much thought, with too many variables to consider. Do you go current hosts? All-time hosts? Do you have unlimited funds? That sort of thing. And it was that last one that I kept coming back to. That’s the question program directors have to face. I’m sure both stations would love to stockpile talent, pay Tony Bruno and Glen Macnow, but also Angelo Cataldi, Anthony Gargano and Mike Missanelli. But you can’t have it all. You can’t program all of the biggest names and most talented hosts.
So, an idea was born: Useless Fantasy. A Draft Kings-style post that forces you to make the tough decisions in completely arbitrary and meaningless squad building. Call it #SquadGoals, with a daily fantasy twist.
First up: Philly sports talk radio.
Here’s the deal: You have $50,000 to spend on programming a lineup with the following time slots: 6a-10a, 10a-12p, 12a-2p, 2p-6p, 6p-10p, 10p-1a, and one weekend host. Be your very own Matt Nahigian or Andy Bloom!
Here are the slots you’ll need to fill. You may choose one one-man show in the mid-day or afternoon time slots, for a total of 11 hosts. Put your best lineup in the comments or tweet them to me. We’ll feature the best.
