Every week, professional football teams bring in players to work out for any number or reasons. They could have injury concerns, a practice squad spot opening up, or just want to keep an eye on who is available out there. It’s no big story, and they’re usually undrafted guys or dudes who’ve been floating aimlessly around the league for a minute. So what’s this post all aboot? The Eagles are working out two bona-fide CFL stars today.

Both coming from the Calgary Stampeders, defensive end Freddie Bishop III and wide receiver Eric Rogers will work out for the Eagles today. Bishop, a 6’4″ 265-pounder, worked out for the Bears and plans on working out for the Titans as well. An alum of Western Michigan, he posted 11 sacks last season.

Rogers is getting much more interest around the league, with upwards of a dozen workouts planned. He was the leading receiver in the CFL last season, and has played in the Arena Football League prior to playing in Canada. The also 6’4″ WR notched 1,448 yards and 10 touchdowns on 87 catches in the great white north last season.

Rogers specifically is likely to court a lot of suitors, but I’ve got a lot more faith in this guy figuring out how to navigate a smaller end-zone than whatever they hell they expected out of Miles Austin.
