Your Monday Morning Roundup
Well, the Eagles season is officially over, and we now enter the “what now” phase of things. It’s going to be a long offseason, but there is something on the line in week 17 (more on that later). Things aren’t all bad. Mostly they are though.

The Eagles, at least, are in good company:

Jordan Matthews would really like Sam Bradford to stay here:
“The way you start winning is, you gotta stay consistent with guys. You gotta get to work with guys you know and grow with people. I’ve learned so much about Sam, and Sam’s learned so much about me just over this past year. It sucks that we weren’t able to keep this thing going for this season. The reality is, we’ve got one more game, and that’s it.
But now I know that’s going to be my guy, and I want him to be my guy, and I wholeheartedly believe he has to be the guy moving forward. You’ve seen progression. You’ve seen how much better he’s gotten. You’ve seen the chemistry that he’s been able to build with me, Zach (Ertz), some of the other receivers.”
Bill Davis doesn’t sound exactly confident in his job security, and he shouldn’t:
“That’s for other men to decide that. hat I think about is how I’m going to get this group of men to play next week. That’s all I’ve done every day and that’s all I’ll do.
I’ve been down this road where you have seasons that are disappointing and everybody is looking for the blame game. As a team, we have to make sure that we hang together and take all the accountability that we need. The city of Philadelphia, we have to give them better. I’ve got to do a better job and everybody has to look at themselves and see how they can do a better job.”
Chip told Rickie Ricardo this morning that “This organization deserves to be a playoff team and we’ve fallen short of that,” which is exactly why I’m glad they didn’t make the playoffs this year. Riding the “we were a playoff team last year” train with this squad would be nothing more than an excuse.
Well, at least there’s a majority I guess:
This is either a number one reason to love punters, or a number one reason to hate punters.
This Jets fan must really be an Eagles fan in disguise:
