The Sixers’ Only Trade Deadline Deal Has Been Voided

So I talked to the media for nothing?

To be, or not to be–that is the question: And the answer is “not to be.”

According to CSN Philly, the three-team trade that brought Joel Anthony and a 2nd-round pick to Philly (and caused the Sixers to waive JaKarr Sampson) has been voided. Donatas Motiejūnas failed his physical, so he and Marcus Thornton will return to the Rockets. Joel Anthony, a 2nd-round pick, and a first round pick will head back to Detroit, and the Sixers will once again regain the rights to Chukwudiebere “Chu Chu” Maduabum. JaKarr, however, is gone.

  1. …so basically, the Sixers lost Joel Anthony, aren’t reaching the salary floor and lost Jakarr Sampson.

    That about sums things up.

Oh, and they made Jahlil feel unwanted by sending out trade feelers.

  2. So much for the Joel Anthony era. Guess he is not going to be the difference maker.
